David Wooff

Professor David Wooff is the Director of Apprenticeship Quality and Regulation for the BPP Group, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA), a Fellow of the Society of Education and Training (FSET), a Fellow of the Chartered College of Teaching (FCCT) a Fellow of the Royal Society of Arts (FRSA) and Director and Trustee of the Frank Field Education Trust.

He also has an interest in educational assessment and value judgments in education. Widely published, he has co-authored student textbooks and an accompanying teacher’s guides for the Design and Technology iGCSE qualification. He has also written various chapters and academic conference papers as well as polices and documentation for educational partnerships and both undergraduate and post graduate university programmes. He has presented work both nationally and internationally in a range of countries including Ireland, France, Finland, The Netherlands, The USA, Germany, Malta and New Zealand.

David has extensive experience in the Quality Assurance of Education across many platforms. Currently he is an External Examiner and Chief External Examiner for Initial Teacher Training (ITT) at several UK based institutions of higher education. He has chaired a significant number of University academic quality events across a range of institutions and been an external expert and panel member at events around the UK and abroad.

Prior to commencing work at BPP he worked as an Assessor and Consultant for Advance HE’s End Point Assessment Service at Advance HE, and before that he was a Senior Leader and Principal Lecturer in the School of Education at Sunderland University, with responsibility for Quality Assurance and External Engagement. This allowed him to further build on the experience in Initial Teacher Training (ITT) that he gained working in numerous roles at Edge Hill University in the North West of England in the decade before this.
